WLC launches new material for learning resource centre

West London Composting www.wlcompost.co.uk has opened the doors to its learning resource centre for 2012.

Pre-arranged tours for students and local interest groups within the region, which take place on Mondays throughout the summer, will see visitors take away a range of promotional materials including a ‘scrapbook’ on how the company manufactures compost.

WLC issues first newsletter for residents for 2012

West London Composting www.wlcompost.co.uk has launched the first issue of Down To Earth, its bi-annual newsletter designed to keep local residents up to date with onsite news. Copies have been delivered to more than 2,000 neighbouring homes as well as libraries across the borough.

A second issue is due to be published towards the end of 2012.

WLC new corporate brochure now available

West London Composting www.wlcompost.co.uk has launched a new corporate brochure designed to provide local authorities, farmers and landscape gardeners with information on working with WLC and its composting process.

WLC to give away free supplies of compost to Hillingdon residents

In support of this year’s Compost Awareness Week, Harefield-based West London Composting (WLC) will be giving away supplies of bagged 10mm compost to Hillingdon residents on Thursday 10 May and Friday 11 May between 4.00pm and 6pm.

Designed to ensure that homes in the area receive equal supplies of product, the local community is invited to collect three bags of bagged compost from outside the gates of WLC’s Highview Farm facility in Newyears Green Lane, Harefield. On arrival at the site, visitors will also be asked to show their Hillingdon First card as proof residency. Further information can be found at www.wlcompost.co.uk

Martin Grundon, Managing Director, WLC commented: “We’ve decided to trial a new giveaway event this year. Whilst we’ve previously hosted our compost giveaway over the May Bank Holiday weekend and allowed residents to help themselves to product, we’ve found that some people take too much, leaving supplies short for others.”

“We believe it’s really important that everyone has a chance to receive the same amount of compost and hope that this year’s initiative will help achieve our objectives,” added Grundon.

The joint WLC/Hillingdon initiative aims to promote an understanding of what happens to waste upon collection, and is an opportunity to thank Hillingdon residents for helping to make the borough one of the best for recycling in London.
